There are all kinds of mothers in the world. Each with their own unique approaches, reflections, insights and perspectives that have helped shape their view of motherhood, themselves, and the world.
TED sponsors a series of talks that focus on a variety of new ways to look at motherhood called TEDMoms. The talks features real-life mothers that come from a broad range of cultural and situational backgrounds.
These thought leaders share their own inspiring, thought-provoking and insightful stories, giving mothers everywhere a new way of looking at what it means to be a mom. The Google+ platform provides TED with the opportunity to engage the audience in continued conversation.
The TEDMoms series premieres during the week of Mother’s Day 2013 with 2-3 live talks. After each talk, Google+ Hangouts hosts a moderated Q&A session with the speaker and the Google+ community. Jodie Foster, Kakenya Ntaiya and Jenny McCarthy are our first TEDmoms speakers.
Google+ also hosts a TEDMoms Community where the conversation continues. Moms can share advice, ask questions, post comments and surface potential stories for future TEDMoms talks.
