carpooling with friends is a great, simple way to stay green and combat stresses on roads caused by overpopulation. However, we've all been in that awkward situation when it comes time to split the gas bill and it's never clean. Do you have change for ten? How about I just buy dinner? It's always a hassle. FunFare is a fuel-sharing app that solves this common problem.
When the sync button is pushed by either or passenger, the app takes a "sound fingerprint' of current environment and uses that to match up to any other FunFare apps inside the car, creating a local network.
As the trip progresses, gas money slowly flows from the passenger's app to the driver's, according to a per-mile rate set by the driver. Passengers can load their app with money using their Apple ID account. The app uses GPS to accurately track how far and how long the ride lasts, making sure passengers pay a fair amount. If there's more than one passenger, the app automatically splits the fare between everybody in the driver's FunFare local network.
Gas money left in the driver's FunFare app can be directly transferred to a bank account or used at any Shell Station for special discount on fuel and snacks.
